11 Things Locals Want You To Know Before Visiting Canada

Canada

I asked some locals what they wanted tourist to know before visiting their country!

Enjoy!

Alanna says:

1. ”Even though Canadians usually get teased about being too polite, we actually really respect people who are polite, too! (saying please and thank you, holding doors, etc.)”

2. ”Watch where you’re going. Obviously if you’re a tourist, you’re most likely looking up or through a camera, but it can be really annoying when people aren’t looking where they’re going and run into you.”

3. ”Traffic signs, food packing, etc, is written in both English and French.”

4. ”Also guns are NOT a thing. Only people who really have guns are hunters who have long riffles.”

Peach Park

My husband (John) and I headed down 65 South, we were unsure of where we were going. We just decided we needed to explore south of Alabaster. So we remembered we were only 30 minutes away from Peach Park.

Okay, Peach Park  is this cute little tourist stop, now I am not sure if it started as one, but I always stopped here with my family coming back from the beach when I was younger. So I feel like it is sort of a tradition. You must stop here if you are coming through Alabama. Now, back to what Peach Park is, it is a restaurant, it has a gift shop, and little farmers market in side of it! If you go, make sure to get some peach ice cream!

The Expat Life: From Canada to England

Ever wonder what it’s like to live in a country other than your own? Here is a guest post from Adventures and Naps telling us how she settled into a new country:

Hi everyone! I’m Alanna over at Adventures and Naps, a 23-year-old Canadian trying out life in England. I hope you enjoy my piece below!

“What is it like to be an expat?”

Where do I even begin?

Being an expat, an immigrant living in a foreign country, is basically an emotional rollercoaster. Some days are incredible, filled with experiences I could have never had living back in Canada. Things like exploring historic English villages, climbing nearby mountains in Wales or seeing Harry Potter and the Cursed Child in London. I am truly lucky!adventures-and-naps
