Finally John (husband) and I get to take a vacation. We were not too far off from GA, only about 5 and half hours. So we made our way down(or over) to Savannah, Georgia. There are a lot of things to do in the city and outside of the city.  We left on Thursday 8am and arrived around 4pm.

The first thing we did when we arrived to the area was check in to the Baymont Inn Savannah South. Then after that we headed to the beach, Tybee Island to be exact. This is a pretty cool place! There is a lighthouse you can go up in, but we made it too late to visit inside.

I Can’t Believe Native Americans Made This

Saturday, September 3, 2016

I will never not be amazed by our history!

Moundville Archaeological Park is a 300 acre park where the Mississippian Indians, also known as Moundville people, used to live. My husband and I arrived around 10:40 a.m. As you are driving in, the visitor center is to your right. It’s only $8 for adults. They also have a 12 minute informative video to watch. John and I didn’t watch it, but I recommend it. Why not I say?!

Beeswax Creek and Movie crew in Columbiana

Get out and drive is going to be a travel series about when you want to travel, but can’t really afford to go anywhere. Get out and drive has no destination, which makes it extremely fun!

My husband and I decided we wanted to go somewhere, but really do not have the money to do a far away travel, you know, like hop on  a plane and go somewhere exotic!

Things to do in Birmingham, Alabama

And Other Surrounding Areas

There are plenty of things to do in the state of Alabama, of course it depends on what you like! One of our busiest areas in Alabama is Birmingham. I am going to give you list of things you can do while you are visiting B-ham and areas surrounding this city.

Indoor activities:

  1. Alabama Theatre-Where plays are put on.
  2. McWance Science Center-This place can be fun for children or adults. I went there a couple of years ago when I was 24.
  3. Birmingham Oddities-This is a store that has a bunch of odd and weird thing. It’s pretty neat but if you have a weak stomach I would say you may want to avoid it.
  4. AirWalk Trampoline Park– This is fun for adults and kids.
  5. Birmingham Civil Rights Institute-This is great if you are wanting some history.
  6. Autobahn Indoor Speedway-These go carts go up to 50 mph.
  7. Birmingham Museum of Art
  8. Carmike movie theaters
  9. Breakout Games-A group game where you have to escape using sets of clues.
  10. Saturn Birmingham-This place is a bar, but it is also a venue. They have game nights, vintage gaming systems, and music events.

4th of July in the United States

Independence Day

Also known as The Fourth of July

It is a day that we signed the Declaration of Independence to become our own Nation, thus giving it the name “Independence Day.” Happy birthday to America! It is our country’s 240th birthday!!!

How do you celebrate the fourth of July? Most people in America grill out and shoot fireworks, as a lot of the older traditions have faded out. This year my husband and I decided to grill out and invite our friends over, later we went to The American Village to watch fireworks. Then we decided to buy a few fireworks and invite one of John’s friends over to end our 4th of July!
