Cahaba River National Wildlife Refuge

No ones likes to stay in on a Friday, but it sort of sucks when you do not have a lot of money to spend. Here we go again, on another unexpected drive to who knows where. John and I ended up driving south again.

We saw a lot  of trees, flat land, and hay bales, which I don’t mind. I love looking at that sort of stuff. We ended up at the Cahaba River National Wildlife Refuge. If you follow along with this series you are probably going to see a lot outdoors pictures. We love hiking and love anything to do with water!

We drove most of the way down the gravel dipped road and on the way back stopped off to the side. There are a couple of spots that are kind like beachy areas. We saw a couple of turtles and there were tons and tons of water snails! Okay what you are going to learn with me, is that I love critters!

Finally John (husband) and I get to take a vacation. We were not too far off from GA, only about 5 and half hours. So we made our way down(or over) to Savannah, Georgia. There are a lot of things to do in the city and outside of the city.  We left on Thursday 8am and arrived around 4pm.

The first thing we did when we arrived to the area was check in to the Baymont Inn Savannah South. Then after that we headed to the beach, Tybee Island to be exact. This is a pretty cool place! There is a lighthouse you can go up in, but we made it too late to visit inside.

I Can’t Believe Native Americans Made This

I will never not be amazed by our history!

Moundville Archaeological Park is a 300 acre park where the Mississippian Indians, also known as Moundville people, used to live. My husband and I arrived around 10:40 a.m. As you are driving in, the visitor center is to your right. It’s only $8 for adults. They also have a 12 minute informative video to watch. John and I didn’t watch it, but I recommend it. Why not I say?!

Beeswax Creek and Movie crew in Columbiana

Get out and drive is going to be a travel series about when you want to travel, but can’t really afford to go anywhere. Get out and drive has no destination, which makes it extremely fun!

My husband and I decided we wanted to go somewhere, but really do not have the money to do a far away travel, you know, like hop on  a plane and go somewhere exotic!
